Freebies 4 Mom Updates for August 29Giveaway: Win a Wonder Box (5 winners)
Education.com wants to give a free Wonder Box ($19.99 value) to five lucky readers enjoy educational projects with your kids (ages 3 to 6). My kids loved the surprise projects inside Wonder Box and I was impressed with the quality of supplies and instructions for the projects. It inspired us to do fun science projects and even bake together! This is the first “box subscprition” I’ve seen that’s focused on activities and not on brands – what a refreshing change! How To Enter Fill out the Entry Form on Facebook (it’s easy to fill out, only one entry per person) You can only enter once per person. If you have any problems entering, just email me for assistance and I'll make sure you're entered in this giveaway. What’s so wonderful? The Wonder Box inspires you to do new educational (and fun) activities with your kids by providing you the instructions and supplies. It’s focused on educational activities rather than brands of products. They offer a monthly subscription for $19.99 so you can try it yourself. Each month you get a new box and you are charged $19.99 for it. I love that you can cancel your subscription at any time. You are in control and can cancel after one box (or after twelve boxes). We received the ‘Mad Scientist’ box and I was thrilled because my kids don’t know that I’m a bit of a Mad Scientist myself. I have great memories of the many hours I spent in science labs at college. The first activity we did was an ‘I Spy Bottle’ by adding alphabet beads and sequins to a bottle filled with corn syrup and water. My kids loved watching the objects fall into the solution and shaking up the bottle. I loved having a great opportunity to talk to them about density to help them start developing a vocabulary for science. The next experiment we did was ‘Magnet Magic’ and my kids had fun learning about magnets and finding things around the house that were magnetic. We also played bingo with the color chips and used our new magnet want to clean them up. Then we made ‘Bubble Bread’ by combining an acid (vinegar) and a base (backing soda). My 5-year-old wanted to add raisins to it and after we made it we ate it of course. As an ‘Extra Treat’ there were colorful ‘Fact Cards’ with geometric stickers. Overall I was impressed with the types of activities, quality of supplies and the easy-to-follow instructions. If you need some inspiration to try new things with your children, Wonder Box would be perfect to try! Wonder Box Prize Five winners will be randomly drawn to win one Wonder Box ($19.99 value) shipped to their door for free.
