I recently got a Soda Stream, and I have to tell you I do love this product. When I first got it I wondered how well it would work and if it would be messy. To my surprise there is no mess, it is easy to use (doesn’t even need to be plugged in) and the sodas taste great! I do have to say of all of the flavors the Root Beer is probably my favorite, and I am so happy about having it. I always keep vanilla ice cream at the house and now since I have the Soda Stream I can easily make Root Beer Floats (my favorite).
The Soda Stream machine comes with everything you need right out of the box, including the CO2. The directions call for 3 pumps of this to carbonate the water, but I like my soda with lots of fizz so I always give it an extra pump or 2 for good measure! I have lots of friends who come over and ask me how I like it, and I always rave about it. The one question I get asked by everyone is “does the coke taste like coke?” (disclosure: I am from Texas, Coke and Pepsi are both called coke around here). My answer to that is yes and no. It doesn’t taste like Coca Cola or Pepsi the brand, it does take like coke as in soda. I drink it and have no complaints.
