Through Sunday (December 8, 2013) Cents of Style is offering these Custom Designed State Necklaces. This project has been in development for an entire year, and Cents of Style has this exclusive first run deal while supplies last.
Purchase your state of choice for only $11.95 plus free shipping when you use the coupon code HOME. This is over 50% off the retail price!
Cents of Style sent me a Kansas necklace and I absolutely LOVE it. In fact, I want to wear it all the time because I love it that much. {Yes, maybe I’m weird. Or sentimental. Or something!}
These Custom State Necklaces are made of metal alloy brushed in silver. Each necklace has an 18″ chain with 3″ extender. The pendant is the outline of each state with a contrasting brushed gold heart charm. Each necklace also comes in its own custom designed Cents of Style envelope with string and button closure.
This is a great gift for the holiday season! If you order today, it will ship next week and arrive in time for Christmas. Don’t forget, use the coupon code HOME at checkout to get a Custom State Necklace for only $11.95 shipped.

Visit Ting.com and enter your login details for your Verizon or AT&T account. They’ll send you a free $5 Starbucks gift card along with an analysis on how much they could save you on your cell phone bill.
I’ve personally not used Ting before, but here’s what one of my readers, Lonni, said about the service:
I work from home doing graphic design, with two young boys (3 and 1). My husband and I weren't necessarily looking to cut our cell phone costs, but we wanted to switch to a plan where I could access email while I was away from home. We looked at the major carriers, but a data plan just simply was not an option on our current budget.
We searched around until we found a great low-cost cell phone carrier called Ting.com. They offer pay-as-you-go, no contract (and no fees to cancel), and "pay for what you use" cell phone plans. They also allow you to create an a la carte plan based on the amount of text, data, minutes you'd like to use.
So far, we've been able to use all the bells and whistles of a smartphone while paying LESS than we paid for a minutes-only plan with our other carrier. It's truly amazing and so nice to know I can cancel my plan at any time if needed without penalty. -Lonni
This offer good now through December 12, 2013, or while supplies last.
If you’re already a Ting customer, you can get a free $10 credit when you take a friend out to coffee and tell them about Ting.
It’s a perfect gift for a hostess, neighbor, teacher, or friend. Or, you might want to purchase one to have yourself to use when hosting Christmas gatherings!

2013 has ended up looking a whole lot different than we thought it would… isn’t that how life goes? I learned a lot more about what works for me when it comes to goal-setting and how to give yourself grace in the face of changes and unexpected curveballs.
So even though I won’t be crossing everything off my list this year, it was a year of much personal growth for me — and our family. At the end of the day, that’s much more important than checking things off the list.
In a few weeks, I’ll be sharing my goals for 2014 and some changes I’ll be making to how I do goal-setting based upon what I learned this year. Stay tuned!
Here's my list of 25 Goals for 2013 and an update on how I did in November:
Personal Goals
Read through the Bible in a year using this plan. {I'm on track with this so far.} Run in at least one 5K race. {I think I’m going to have to bump this to 2014 as I ended up having to go out of town the day of both races I had planned to run this year.} Complete the Couch to 10K program. Memorize Romans 1 and 2 with Jesse. {I’ve almost finished Romans 1 — which I am happy about since it’s been years since I’ve consistently memorized Scripture!} Wake up by 6 a.m. and exercise, shower, and dress by 8 a.m. every day. {I’ve made good progress here. Not perfect, but huge strides in the right direction!} Read 150 books/ebooks {See my list of 48 books I'm for sure planning to read here — I've read 97 books/ebooks so far in 2013, unless some miracle happens, I don’t think this goal is going to get completed. But I’m going to be good with that — especially because many of the books I’ve read have been ones that I’ve gone slowly through because they’ve been so life-impacting!!}
Marriage Goals
Read 3 marriage books. Finish reading through the Psalms together as a couple. Have overnight stay (sans children) at least every other month. {Done in November.} Go on at least one date per month. {Done in November}
Weekly accountability meetings with a friend. {This has been SO helpful!} Get together with friends for a playdate or lunch at least once a month. {Done in November.} Continue being involved in our local church, couple's group, and blogging accountability group. {Ongoing} Continue with weekly get-togethers with both sides of our extended family. {Ongoing.}
Financial Goals
Use a portion of the proceeds from my next book project to fund a well project. Fund our Child Survival Program for 2013. {Done — yay!} Buy a new bedroom set. Invest in another rental property. {We hit our funding goal, but have decided to hold off on investing in another rental property for at least another few months for a variety of reasons.}
Business/Blogging Goals
Release two new ebooks. {This is another 2013 goal that I intentionally decided to shelve, for a variety of reasons.} Attend one speaking conference. {I attended the She Speaks Intensive in January.} Finish and submit the manuscript for my next book.
Did you set goals for 2013?
If so, tell us how you're doing in the comments or leave a link to your blog post update below. Let's encourage one another to live lives of intention and purpose!
Today I want to take a little time to talk about ordering online — one of my favorite ways to find great deals and simplify my life! If you don’t typically shop online, I encourage you to read my post on DaveRamsey.com on How to Be an Online Shopping Ninja. Here’s a snippet:
Shopping online is not only convenient, but it also saves you money—especially if you're armed with my secrets for sleuthing out super deals. Here are three of my favorite ways to get the best bang for your buck online:
1. Use a Coupon Code
My husband and I have a policy to never purchase anything without first finding a coupon code to use. I've tried a lot of different coupon code websites and I've also tried Googling for coupon codes, but in my opinion, nothing compares to RetailMeNot.com. They are the best coupon code website in existence right now.
All you have to do is go to their homepage, search for the store you're planning to shop from, and ta-da! you have a long list of coupon codes that have been rated by their large community of users. More often than not, I'm able to find at least one coupon code from the long list that works for me. And, for possibly one to two minutes of effort, that coupon code will usually save me at least 10% off my order—sometimes even as much as 25%!
There are so many ways to get great deals by shopping online. And my favorite part is that you never have to leave home — you don’t have to deal with traffic, you don’t have to find a parking space, you don’t have to stand in line… it’s just all around so much more efficient. Plus, a lot of times I find that the deals are better online, too!
I got this email yesterday that illustrates how great online shopping can be:
I just want to thank Crystal for recommending both Swagbucks and Ebates. I am saving so much money this Christmas shopping season between these two places. I do most of my shopping on Amazon and can use my Swagbucks gift cards and while not all Amazon categories are eligible for rebates, I make sure to use Ebates whenever they are.
I also did some shopping on other sites, like Kohl’s, JCPenney, and Target and got rebates on all of that. So far, I have almost $30 in rebates and have earned $140 in gift cards from Swagbucks. Thank you, thank you, thank you! -Sarah
2. If you’re planning to shop online, be sure to sign up for Ebates and check out RetailMeNot.com.
3. Take some time to just stop and enjoy your weekend — even if it’s just 5 minutes of quiet or taking time to write down blessings from this past week. Step back and refresh, relax, and refuel. Life doesn’t always need to be lived at breakneck speed!
